Who is the Trullo suited to?
Trullo Petrarolo is a wonderful retreat for couples, with the privacy of your own Puglian home, peaceful gardens and a pool for unhurried days together. It is equally well suited to families, with plenty of outdoor space for children to enjoy themselves.
Within the private grounds, grass lawns offer room to run around and play sports, while the trampoline and grassy turtle invite children to play and explore. There is space for little adventures while the adults relax by the pool.
The two en suite bedrooms accommodate four guests, with additional mezzanine sleeping space for two guests. Share your party size, children’s ages and room requirements when enquiring so we can help plan a comfortable stay. The mezzanine is accessed by steep metal stairs and is not suitable for younger children. We recommend it only for children aged 12 and over.
Can I book a single room?
No. Trullo Petrarolo is rented as a whole private property to one group. Both en suite bedrooms, the living spaces, garden and pool form part of your booking.
Please include your full group size in your enquiry so we can confirm the sleeping arrangements.
What are the bedrooms and living spaces like?
The Lunetta and Ciliegeto suites provide two individual en suite bedrooms for four guests, with additional mezzanine sleeping space for two guests. Pale stone, curved walls and carefully chosen furnishings give each room its own character. The mezzanine is accessed by steep metal stairs and is not suitable for younger children. We recommend it only for children aged 12 and over.
A welcoming living room and kitchenette provide indoor spaces for daily life, while shaded dining terraces, an outdoor kitchen and the courtyard extend your stay outdoors.
Tell us about children’s ages and room-sharing preferences when enquiring.
What can guests enjoy at the Trullo?
The private 11m × 5m swimming pool overlooks the primitivo vineyards. Between swims, enjoy the private garden, shaded places to sit and countryside around the Trullo.
Children should be supervised around the swimming pool, steps and changes of level. Please discuss seasonal operation and any particular facility needs with the team before booking.
A warm soak among the olive trees

A four-person, wood-burning Scandinavian hot tub offers another way to unwind in the Trullo’s private garden. Set among the olive trees, it is a quiet place to pause after a day exploring Puglia.
Ask our guest relations team about preparation and use during your stay.
Can a larger family stay nearby?
Masseria Petrarolo is our sister property, a stone’s throw across the lane, restored in the same distinctive style and run by the same dedicated team. It offers nine en suite bedrooms for 18 guests and a setting for larger gatherings.
The Masseria, Airstream Petrarolo and Loggia Petrarolo can be considered as separate stays, subject to availability. Any additional property must be expressly included in your booking arrangements.
How do we get there?
The Trullo is near Monopoli, around six kilometres inland from the Adriatic coast. Indicative driving times are 45 minutes from Bari Airport and 55 minutes from Brindisi Airport, depending on traffic.
Ask about transfers and transport planning when discussing your stay. Confirmed guests receive arrival directions before travelling.
What can we explore nearby?
Monopoli and the Adriatic coast are close enough for outings from the Trullo. The wider area includes Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, the hill towns of the Itria Valley and opportunities for vineyard visits.
Whether you are planning a quiet holiday or an active one, our guest relations team will be pleased to help with ideas, reservations and the details of your stay.
How do meals and services work?
The Trullo’s kitchenette and outdoor kitchen let you enjoy meals at your own pace. Gather on a shaded terrace, prepare something from the local markets or explore the restaurants of Monopoli and the surrounding countryside.
Daily housekeeping, evening turndown and a full-time concierge are included only when the same group books Trullo Petrarolo and Masseria Petrarolo together for the same dates. For a standalone Trullo booking, please contact our guest relations team to confirm the services available and the inclusions in your quotation.
Cooking classes, excursions, tastings, massages, entertainment, restaurant meals and transport are optional arrangements, subject to availability and additional charges.
What if our preferred dates are taken?
Choose your preferred arrival and departure dates. The minimum stay is seven nights in July and August, five nights in June and September, and three nights during the rest of the year. Enquire early for school holidays and preferred summer weeks. If your dates are flexible, tell us which nearby weeks could also work.
Our bookings team can check your preferred dates and discuss alternatives, including other Petrarolo properties where suitable.
How much does a stay cost?
Rates depend on the dates, length of stay, accommodation and agreed services. Request a current quotation for your group.
Confirm inclusions, optional extras, payment schedule, cancellation conditions and any other charges before booking. Sending an enquiry does not reserve dates or confirm a stay.
Is the Trullo suitable for mobility needs?
The historic Trullo and its grounds include steps and changes of level. If anyone in your group has mobility or access requirements, tell us before booking so we can discuss the bedrooms, bathrooms, mezzanine and outdoor routes.
Access is not step-free throughout. Discussing individual needs early helps us establish whether the Trullo is a comfortable fit for everyone.
Can our travel adviser arrange the stay?
Yes. Travel agencies, villa specialists, concierge teams and private travel assistants can enquire with a client brief. Include dates, flexibility, party size, children’s ages and room requirements.
What is the Trullo’s history?
Trullo Petrarolo was converted from two original cones within the historic Petrarolo estate. Its restoration retained the distinctive stone architecture while creating a comfortable private home.
The wider estate’s history includes our sister property, Masseria Petrarolo, whose defensive features and chapel belong to the Masseria’s own story.
How do I enquire?

Ideas for a week in Puglia
Combine time at the Trullo with a walk around Monopoli’s old port, a visit to Polignano a Mare, a beach day at Capitolo or Savelletri, and a stroll through Alberobello’s trulli. Castellana Grotte offers a cave outing; Giardini Pistola offers landscaped terraces, pergolas and seasonal family activities.
For a longer day out, discuss Lecce, Matera, Trani, Otranto, Torre Guaceto or Castel del Monte. Check opening times, reservations and current journey times before setting off.
A private garden among the vineyards
The Trullo opens into its own courtyard, terraces and garden, with olive trees, cherries and vineyards in the surrounding countryside. Shaded places to sit and a private pool make it easy to spend a day close to home.
Where will we eat together?

Breakfast at your own pace, lunch beside the pool or dinner on a shaded terrace: the Trullo offers inviting settings for a shared table. The kitchenette and outdoor kitchen support relaxed meals at home.
For an evening out or a special occasion, our guest relations team can help with local restaurant recommendations and reservations.
What happens before we arrive?

Once your booking is confirmed, planning turns to the details of your stay. Share arrival information, room preferences and any experiences you would like us to help arrange.
Discuss transfers, restaurant reservations and optional activities in advance, particularly during busy holiday weeks. Arrival directions are provided before you travel.
Which season should we choose?
Your ideal week depends on how you want to spend your time: long days around the pool, exploring Puglia’s towns and coast, or a quieter holiday enjoying the garden and Trullo itself. School holidays and preferred summer weeks are best discussed early.
Our guest relations team can help you choose dates that suit your interests and plans.
